The ultimate “hell yeah” movie. One of the most adrenaline-filled, unrelenting action films I have ever experienced, full of all the absurdity, ridiculousness, outrageousness, and insanity we have come to enjoy over the course of the first 2 chapters.
The, er, “creative” brutality of our anti-hero assassin is on full display, even more extraordinarily so than what we had seen before. Keanu Reeves blends into his role as John Wick seamlessly, and the addition of Halle Berry as the fierce assassin, Sofia, provides yet another layer of visceral intensity. Their magnetic chemistry is absolutely captivating, albeit in limited shared screen time.
Game-changing fight choreography, heart-throbbingly palpable sound design, stylistic cinematography and art direction, and preposterous stunts have always been the backbone of this franchise, and this installment turns every notch up to 110%. This was definitely my personal favorite of the 3 chapters thus far, but I have faith that the bar may yet be raised in chapter 4 (trust me, there’s going to be another one of these). Do not go in expecting a deep, thought-provoking masterpiece. Just enjoy the ludicrous ride.
